LockedIn AI review (2026): pricing, plans and a simpler Mac alternative

Disclosure: we make InterviewWhisperer, a Mac app that competes with LockedIn AI. This review is built from what LockedIn AI publishes about itself: its pricing, help pages, refund policy and terms, read on 2026-10-21. We haven't used LockedIn AI in a live interview, and we don't quote anyone else's reviews. Where LockedIn AI is the better pick, we say so.

LockedIn AI tries to cover everything: a web app, a Chrome extension, Mac and Windows apps, iPhone and Android apps, mock interviews, and Duo, where a friend joins your session to help. That breadth comes with a lot of plans. This LockedIn AI review sorts out LockedIn AI pricing, what each plan includes (the cheapest unlimited plan doesn't hide from screen share), what's free, and how refunds and renewals work.

These are LockedIn AI's prices on 2026-10-21, with the 50% off its site currently applies to every plan above ("Lock in 50% off forever," code LOCKIN50). The standard prices it shows next to them are double: $109.98 a month for General, $239.98 for Pro, $139.98 for Credits and $1,999 for Lifetime. The 3-month totals are our arithmetic. LockedIn's docs say codes and their terms change over time, and its pricing FAQ notes that subscriptions cost more in its mobile apps.

Is there a free version of LockedIn AI?

Yes. LockedIn's docs describe the free plan as unlimited 5-minute sessions, up to 60 free minutes a day, with a 1-minute pause between sessions, and its site says no card is needed. Five minutes at a time is enough to see how it works, not to get through a real interview, and Stealth Mode is only on paid plans.

What LockedIn AI does well

  • Every device. A web app (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave and Chromium), a Chrome extension, desktop apps for macOS 13.1 or later and Windows 10 or later, and iPhone and Android apps.
  • Duo. A friend you invite can see your interview screen and hear the audio in real time, send you guidance and, if you allow it, take remote control.
  • Room for long rounds. The unlimited plans include unlimited mock interviews and sessions of up to 2 hours.
  • Credits never expire, and they keep working with the general models after a subscription ends.
  • Plain talk about Stealth Mode. Its docs include a built-in test and say where it doesn't hide.
  • A free tier you can use every day.

Where LockedIn AI falls short

  • The cheapest unlimited plan doesn't hide. General ($54.99 a month) has no Stealth Mode or Duo. To stay off a screen share you need Credits ($69.99) or Pro ($119.99).
  • No refunds once a monthly or 3-month plan starts, per its refund policy (last updated 2026-10-14). Annual plans can get a partial refund within 7 days. The pricing page still shows a "Money-back guarantee" badge.
  • Every subscription renews, and you can only cancel in the web app, not in the desktop app.
  • Stealth Mode is desktop only. Its docs say the web app doesn't hide anything, and that LockedIn can be visible when you share from Teams running in a browser.
  • The prices lean on a promotion. The standard prices are double what it charges today.

Is LockedIn AI worth it?

If you interview on Windows or a phone, or you want a friend helping live through Duo, LockedIn covers that, and the free tier lets you try it.

For a typical search on a Mac the math is less friendly. The cheapest plan that hides from screen share is $69.99 a month for 400 minutes, nothing is refundable once a monthly or 3-month plan starts, and every plan renews. InterviewWhisperer is $149 once for three months with screen-share hiding included, and a full refund within 7 days.

How InterviewWhisperer is different

LockedIn is built to cover every device and situation, which also means more plans to choose between and more settings to get right before an interview. InterviewWhisperer does one job on one machine: when the interviewer finishes a question you press ⌘; and a short answer you can say out loud appears, built from your resume and the job description. Press ⌘W on a coding problem for the approach, the code and the complexity, and get a recap of every question when the call ends. Every plan covers up to 3 hours of live audio and 30 sessions a day, with no credits to count.

  • Try it first. Your first 30 minutes of live answers are free, no card.
  • Pay for the search, not a subscription. $29 for a week or $149 once for three months, and neither one renews. If you'd rather pay monthly, it's $69 a month and you can cancel anytime.
  • A real refund. A full refund within 7 days of buying, even if you've used it.
  • Hidden on screen share on every plan. We've tested it in Google Meet and in Zoom, both the desktop app (with Screen capture mode left on Auto, the default) and the browser. A phone camera pointed at your screen can still see it.
  • Mac only. It needs an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later).
