InterviewWhisperer for Mac

An AI interview assistant for your Mac, on Zoom, Google Meet and Teams

Apple Silicon (M1 or later) · macOS 12 or newer · notarized by Apple

InterviewWhisperer is a Mac app that listens to your interview through your Mac's microphone. When the interviewer asks a question, it puts an answer on your screen, built from your resume and the job description, for you to say in your own words. For a coding problem or anything else on screen, press ⌘W and it reads the screenshot. Your first 30 minutes of live answers are free, with no card.

What it does on a call

  • Hears the question. It transcribes the call as it happens, through your Mac's microphone. Because it listens to the room and not to the meeting app, it works the same on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or any other call.
  • Puts an answer on your screen. When the interviewer finishes asking, an answer streams onto your screen for you to say in your own words.
  • Uses your story. Add your resume (PDF, Word or text) and the job description before the call, and the answers come from your real experience instead of a generic template.
  • Reads the screen when you ask. For a coding problem or a prompt on screen, press ⌘W to capture it and ⌘W again to get a worked answer. ⌘⇧W adds another page in between.
  • Recaps the interview. Click Finish Interview at the end for a recap of the session.

Requirements

  • Mac: Apple Silicon, M1 or later. Intel Macs aren't supported yet. To check yours: Apple menu, About This Mac, and look for Chip.
  • macOS: 12 Monterey or newer.
  • Call apps: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or any other, since it listens through the microphone.
  • Audio: Play the call through your Mac's speakers. With headphones on, the interviewer's voice never reaches the microphone, so it only hears you.
  • Signing: Signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

The permissions it asks for, and why

  • Microphone. It transcribes the interview audio in real time. Audio is never recorded or stored. This is the only permission you need to start.
  • Screen Recording. Only for ⌘W screenshots. You can skip it during setup: the app asks the first time you press ⌘W.

Install in four steps

  1. 1Open the download. Open InterviewWhisperer-arm64.dmg from your Downloads folder. It's about 190 MB, so give it a minute.
  2. 2Drag it to Applications. Drag the InterviewWhisperer icon into your Applications folder.
  3. 3Open it. Open InterviewWhisperer from Applications. If your Mac asks whether to open an app downloaded from the internet, click Open.
  4. 4Start your free trial. Agree to the terms, enter your email and click “Start my free interview”. 30 minutes of live answers, no card.

Screen sharing

The answer window uses macOS's screen-capture exclusion to stay out of what you share. On macOS 26.7.1 we tested both halves with an entire-screen share running: the window stayed in front of you, and the shared picture didn't include it. That is the only macOS version with that test so far.

On any other version, check it on your own Mac first with the free 2 MB checker, or share your screen in a test call before the real one.

Your audio and data

Voice detection runs on your Mac. Short audio segments stream to a transcription provider (Deepgram), and the transcript goes to a language model to write the answer. Audio isn't recorded, transcripts aren't logged, and nothing trains on your content. The Privacy Policy lists every processor.

Pricing

Your first 30 minutes of live answers are free, across up to 3 sessions in your first 7 days, with no card. After that: $29 for a 7-day pass, $69 a month (cancel anytime) or $149 once for 3 months. Every plan has a 7-day money-back guarantee.

One better offer can be worth thousands of dollars a year, and the week of your interviews costs $29. You still do the preparing and the talking, and no tool can promise an offer.

Questions

Does InterviewWhisperer work on Intel Macs?

No. It needs an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) with macOS 12 or newer. To check yours, open the Apple menu, click About This Mac and look for Chip.

Does it work with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams?

Yes. It listens through your Mac's microphone, so it works the same with any call app. Play the call through your speakers so it can hear the interviewer.

Does it work with headphones?

Not for hearing the interviewer. Headphones keep their voice away from the microphone, so it only hears you. ⌘W screenshots still work with headphones on.

Which macOS permissions does it need?

The microphone, to transcribe the interview. Screen Recording only matters for ⌘W screenshots, and the app asks for it the first time you press ⌘W.

Is it notarized by Apple?

Yes. It's signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized. The first time you open it, macOS may ask whether to open an app downloaded from the internet. Click Open.

Does the answer window show up when I share my screen?

It uses macOS's screen-capture exclusion to stay out of what you share. On macOS 26.7.1 we tested both halves with an entire-screen share running: the window stayed in front of you and the shared picture didn't include it. That is the only macOS version with that test so far, so on any other version, run the free checker on your Mac before you rely on it.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Download the app, enter your email and you get 30 minutes of live answers, across up to 3 sessions in your first 7 days. No card.

Is there a Windows version?

Not yet. It's Mac only for now.
